Business Works partners with CEFE International to form and build CEFE Caribbean Movement. The brandname is proudly being built since 2009.
The CEFE (Competency-based Economies Formation of Enterprise) methodology was indeed developed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), also known as the German Development Cooperation.
The CEFE methodology has its roots in Germany and was initially developed in the early 1980s by the German organization InWEnt, now part of GIZ. It was created as a response to the need for effective entrepreneurship and business development training in various parts of the world. The methodology was developed based on the principles of experiential learning, competency-based education, and participatory training.
1. Competency-Based Learning: The CEFE approach focuses on developing specific competencies and skills that are relevant to entrepreneurship and business management. These competencies include financial literacy, marketing, business planning, and problem-solving.
2. Experiential Learning: CEFE emphasizes learning by doing. Participants engage in hands-on activities, simulations, and real-world business challenges to develop practical skills and knowledge.
3. Participatory Training: Trainers use a participatory approach, involving participants in the learning process. This encourages active engagement and peer learning.
4. Customization: CEFE programs can be customized to suit the specific needs and contexts of different regions and target groups. This adaptability has contributed to its success in various countries.

Since 2009, Business Works has represented the CEFE Movement in Jamaica. In January 2024 we will see the launch of THE SEASON OF CEFE. The Season will focus heavily on family-owned businesses of all sizes, from nano to medium-sized.
This is the start of a series of entrepreneurship development throughout the wider Caribbean. Trained CEFE practitoners will collaborate to reflect, exchange knowledge and leverage our competencies for a strong, nimble, courageous and viable ecosystem.
This will incorporate the capacity builders, users, stimulators, agitators, enablers, and policy development actors.
